Christmas is Coming

 Hello and Welcome

I am way behind in posting as the stomach flu decided to come and visit my house and make everyone miserably sick. I am doing much better now thank goodness.  During such a busy time, I need all the time and energy I can find.

So this is a collection of what we have been working on.

Trees
These cute, simple trees are a printable.

Santa Countdown
This is a fun advent calendar the kids made.  There are numbers for them to glue on each day.
It also practices number recognition and counting.

Mr. Snowman
This was another really cute printable I found.

3-D Ornament
I printed out the circles, the kids coloured them and we glued them together.

Paper Tube Trees
I covered some tubes with green paper, then I folded the tube in half and cut along the sides, leaving the bottom portion together as the base.
We decorated them with some peel and stick shiny glitter paper.

Numbers and Counting

Hello and Welcome

The holiday season is upon us and I'm feeling like I'm behind this week.

So last week our theme was numbers.
It's never too soon to start counting and helping the kids realize that number are all around us.

So here's what we did last week.

Ice Cream Match
The kids liked this one.  They matched the top of the ice cream cone to the bottom.
We added the fun dots in all colours as the sprinkles and counted them out.

Number Gluing
Simple number gluing then counted and added the dots to each number.

More Counting
I punched out large coloured circles, we glued them onto a paper and then counted out the right number of dots to add to each one.
I took some bottle lids to use as the matching pieces.

Craft Stick Match
The kids coloured the craft sticks.
(This little person of mine loved the red!!)

I Love Colours

 Hello and Welcome

Last week we learned about colours.
A fun theme to create with and also to learn about.  Colour is all around us, so it's an easy thing to talk about too.

So here's what we did last week.

Colour Matching Game
This game is not only good for learning how to match colours, it is also great for fine motor skills as the kids have to squeeze the clothespins to put them onto the paper plate.
They had fun with it.

Colour and Shapes
This was a super simple game to make.
The kids glued the large coloured squares onto a grid, then I gave them the shapes to match.

Colour Caterpillars
This fun and simple caterpillar could be hung up when the kids got home so they could continue to learn all about the different colours.

Colourful Names
The kids glued all the colours over the outline of their names.
Another great fine motor activity.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Nocturnal Animals

 Welcome
Another fun and learning week with my little ones.
This past week, we learned about nocturnal animals.  Simple facts for very young ones but a lot of them now know what animals are awake hunting at night.

So here's what we did last week.

Racoon Puppets
I found this cute printout so we glued our puppets together and coloured them.
(one of my littles thought her raccoon should be wearing a dress)

Fox
A 3-D printout of a fox that we coloured and glued together.

Sleeping Fox
Another simple printout to colour and put together.

Stinky Skunk
These were simple skunks we made into puppets.

Bats
The kids really liked this one.
We made a bat cave from an old tissue box.  We glued and coloured our bats and talked about how they fold up their wings to sleep.
They loved playing with them, folding up the wings and putting them into the box.

Owl
A simple owl to colour.
We all hooted like owls which made us all giggle.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Halloween

Hello and Welcome
What a fun Halloween we had.  I love seeing the excitement the kids had.
For a few of my littles, it was their first time!
Lots of decorations, fun foods, crafts and a party.

So here's what we did to celebrate last week.

Creeping Spider
This is a simple fun craft. I drew a spider web on a paper plate and the kids glued on paper spiders.
I tied a spider onto a string with a craft stick on the back to pull up and down and make the spider climb the web.

Glowing Ghosts
We decorated a white paper cup with strips of white paper.
When dry, we put a battery candle inside to make our ghosts glow.

Halloween Shapes
I got these cute felt shapes in a set from the Dollar Store.

Bat Puppet
I covered a paper tube with some black paper to make our bat.
The kids glued on some features and added the fun dots to the wings.

OUR PARTY FOODS

Spiders
I spread some peanut butter onto a cracker and the kids added 8 pretzel legs.  Added another cracker with pb on the top and some google eyes.

Pretzel Ghosts
I covered some pretzels with white chocolate, then added the eyes.

Rice Krispies Ghosts
I covered some Rice Krispies squares with some melted white chocolate then added the eyes.

Mummies
For lunch I made some mummies....melted cheese on an english muffin then cut strips from a wrap for the top.

OUR PARTY GAMES

Bowling in the Dark
This is always a fan favourite.  I used some water bottles and placed a glow stick in each one.
At the end of the day, each child took one home.

Sticky Spider Web
I covered a hola hoop with masking tape- sticky side facing out.
We threw black pom poms as the spiders and tried to get them to stick...so fun.

Pumpkin Cones
I taped some pumpkin faces onto our cones and we played ring toss.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Hope you have a great week.
