Halloween is Coming

Welcome
As Halloween gets closer and closer, my little ones are getting more and more excited.
Some of them have never really experienced Halloween as last year brought many Covid restrictions and limitations.
I have slowly been decorating and getting ready for our party on Friday that will be so fun.

So here's what we did last week.

Pumpkin Suncatchers
These fun catchers are fun and easy to make.
I just cut a pumpkin shape from some black paper, attached some sticky contact paper on the back and the kids placed pieces of tissue paper to the sticky side.
When it was full, we glued on the features and added a piece of contact paper to the other side.

Pumpkin Shakers
This shaker was made by covering a paper tube with orange paper, then added the details.
We placed some macaroni inside to make the shaker sound.
It is the safest to use something edible in the shakers just in case the child breaks it opens and happens to eat some of the contents.

Halloween Printables
I printed these out and the kids coloured them

Ghosts
I cut the ghost shapes from some white paper, the kids decorated with pieces of white tissue, then I added the tails to blow in the wind.

Witch
This cute little witch printable can be found HERE.

Envelope Ghosts
I took a white envelope, sealed it then cut the bottom off.
The kids decorated them for a simple ghost puppet.

Halloween Mobile
I found these cute wooden shapes at the Dollar Tree.
We coloured them, then glued on some circles to decorate.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Scarecrows and Crows

Welcome
Fall is upon us as the temperatures get a lot cooler and we are into sweater weather.

Another fun, but short 4 day week of creating.
Lots of scarecrows in our neighbourhood to find.
I have one too, that the kids love, so I thought that would be a fun theme to work on.

My Scarecrow

So here's what we did last week.

Paper Plate Scarecrows
We decorated a paper plate to create our scarecrows.

Fall and Scarecrows
I had this printable in my files so we coloured it and added leaves to the bottom.

Sitting Crow
The body is a simple cone shape and the kids added the details.

Decorative Corn
Simple fine motor activity making some decorative corn.

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Gobble Gobble and Happy Thanksgiving

Welcome and so glad you could pop in for a visit.
This past week, we celebrated Thanksgiving here in Canada.
My little ones did lots of creating for this celebration.

So  here's what we did last week.

Sitting Turkey
This turkey was made from folded paper.  I've had it in my stash for years so I'm sorry there isn't a link I can pass along to you.

Turkey Wreath
Just a simple wreath made with a paper plate.
We glued paper strips to decorate.

Tickle the Turkey
This little book is so fun.
It is about tickling the turkey until he runs away.
I taped a feather onto a craft stick for the kids to tickle the turkey in the story.
(Here is a printable of the same story, just different pictures)

Turkey Card
I traced the kid's foot for the body and their hands for the feather.
A great keepsake for the parents.

Well that's all for this past week.
More to come and thanks for coming by and taking a look.

Welcome Fall

Fall is such a wonderful time of year with the changing of the trees and lots of colour all around us to see and explore.

My little ones just LOVE going and collecting leaves.  It is such a great opportunity to learn about all the colours and kinds of different trees.

So here's what we did last week.

Acorn Puppet
We learned that acorns come from an oak tree.  It was fun looking for them too on our walk.
I just cut the shapes from paper and the kids glued them together.

Owls
These owls were so fun to create.
We went out for our walk, collected leaves and used them for our owl's wings.

Camera
We created these fun cameras to pretend we took pictures of all the Fall leaves.  I covered the leaf strip with some clear contact paper so the kids could easily slide it up and down.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
