The Very Hungry Caterpillar

 Hello and Welcome
One of our favourite books is The Very Hungry Caterpillar.  It's a fun story about how the caterpillar eats his way through the week and then becomes a butterfly.
I thought it would be a fun theme to work on with the kids.

So here's what we did.

Caterpillar
The kids coloured green strips of paper and we glued them onto a leaf that have eating circles punched into it.

Caterpillar Puzzle
I printed out a picture of the Hungry Caterpillar, the kids coloured it and then we cut it into a puzzle.

Caterpillar Game
We made a 'Feed the Caterpillar' game with all the foods from the story.

Story Sequencing
Using our story as a reference, we recreated the story.

Paper Tube Butterfly

Some of the other things we did too!

Paper Plate Basket
My kids made a basket to use to collect dandelions.

Windsock

Swing Printable
This was a fun 3D printable we did.

Belated Mother's Day

 Welcome
We celebrated Mother's Day last week.
All is behind as I was off sick and some of the kids were as well.
We could never forget our Moms and how special they are!

So here's what we did last week.

Mom Suncatcher
I cut out the 'Mom' heart and added some sticky contact paper to create our suncatcher.

Flower Bouquet
I printed these off HERE and the kids decorated them.

Mom Medallion
I made these with the kids a few years ago and really had to rack my brain to remember how to do them.
I used old envelopes to create it and decided to write a reminder about how to do it when I finally figured it out again.  I really hope they make sense if you want to create one.
They are fun and the kids loved how big they were.

Watering Can Card
I cut these watering cans out and the kids glued them together.
We added some flower seeds to the front pocket.

Trivet
I glued clothespins from the Dollar Store together with hot glue.
The kids loved colouring the sticks, something different to make our trivet Mother's Day gift.
How to's are HERE

Spring Flowers

Welcome

I am behind with posting, had to be off last week due to illness but doing great now!
We are loving our outside time and seeing all the flowers finally blooming in the neighbourhood.
It gives us such a good chance to talk about how plants grow, the colours they are and how to care for them.  A great learning experience with lots of excitement from the kids when they see them popping out of the ground.  Some of the kids can even name the flowers which is great.

So here's what we did during Spring Flowers week.

Daffodils
I printed off these daffodils and the kids coloured them.  We added the rolled yellow buds to the centers.

Tulip Wreath
Simple wreath of paper tulips.

Snow Drops
These are one of the first flowers we saw in the gardens popping up.  So pretty.

Hyacinths
Simple hyacinths done with added rolled paper buds.
*gotta love the butterfly one of my kids added seen in the picture*

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.
