Safety Week

  Good Morning.
I think introducing a Safety theme with my little ones is an important thing to do.
You read stories about very young children being able to call for help in some amazing situations.
Hopefully, my littles will never be put into that position and I'm not sure how much they will remember, but it's a start anyways.

So, here's what we did last week.

Traffic Lights

Fireman and Firetruck
The firetruck was made by gluing craft sticks together and the kids decorated.
We learned about having a safety plan and what to do if there was a fire.

Fireman Hats
I cut a paper plate to create the hat and the kids decorated them.
We added a shield on the top.

Calling for Help
We learned about calling 911 and practiced pushing the numbers to call.

Firetruck
We talked about all the parts of the firetruck and how they would help in a fire.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Valentine's Day and Hearts

 Welcome

What a fun 2 weeks we have had, filled with excitement.
My little ones just couldn't wait to make Valentines and also to receive cards from their friends.
Such a fun time.

So, here's what we did.

Simple Bears

Heart Wreaths
I cut some fun straws to decorate our wreaths.

Love Bird

Heart Robots

Banner

Heart Match Game

Heart Necklaces
I found the wooden hearts at the Dollar Tree and we used more of the cut up straws to make our necklace.

Heart Puppies
We used lots of hearts to make our puppies.

Valentines

Valentine Baskets
I put together 2 paper plates to create a basket so the kids could collect their Valentines.

Heart Gluing

Chocolate Heart Treats
I covered a pretzel with chocolate and we decorated with sprinkles.

Groundhog Day and Favourite TV Shows

 Welcome
Another fun week learning about Groundhog Day, shadows and creating some of our favourite TV characters.

So, here's what we did last week.

Peppa Pig
We used a red paper plate for the body and I printed off Peppa's head to add to the top.

Peppa Pig Scene

Elmo
We glued squares of red cardstock onto our paper and added the features.
Good fine motor practice picking up all the little squares.

Paw Patrol
I printed off the head and paws and we glued them onto a cone to decorate.

Paper Snowman

Groundhog Day
Here in Canada, we celebrate Groundhog Day on Feb. 2.
We coloured a puppet and gave him a shadow.
We had fun making shadows and I'm happy to say that the groundhog predicts an early Spring!

Arctic Animals

 Welcome
What a great week we had learning about Arctic Animals.
The kids were eager to learn all about them...we still need to do more penguin activities as they are fascinated by them.

Here's what we did last week.

Snowy Owl
Aren't these the cutest!
We made these using a pinecone and glued cotton into the little parts of the cone.
We added the wings and the head.  The kids loved them.

Feed the Polar Bear
I made a little box that fit behind the bear's mouth.  We learned that polar bears mostly eat fish, so we coloured some fish and added numbers to them to feed the bear.

Polar Bear Gluing

Arctic Fox
