Things that Go

 Welcome

So glad you came for a visit.
We had another fun week, this time, learning about 'Things that Go'.

So here's what we did.

Cars
We made these fun little paper cars.
here is the printable:

Hot Air Balloon
How fun are these?  My kids loved making this simple craft.  They made notes for each other and floated their balloons to deliver them.

School Bus
Here is the road and School Bus we made.
The bus is simply a rolled piece of yellow paper, decorated with details and stapled to the road we made above.

Airplane
This was a simple airplane I hot glued together using popsicle sticks.
The kids coloured them and once again, had such fun playing with them.

Spaceship
We made our Spaceships with a paper towel tube.  I made a cone for the top and they decorated them with lots of coloured tapes.

Boats
We used a paper plate, folded in half as the water and glued our boats onto the top to make our rocking boats.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Songs and Fairy Tales

Welcome
Another great week with my kiddos.  A short one as we were off on Monday for Family Day.
We did some fun crafts, singing and playing.  I do love making interactive crafts with them that they can play with when finished.

So here's what we did.

Five Little Monkey Jumping on the Bed
A favourite song for sure.  I made a little box and we covered it with a piece of blue paper for the blanket and made a little pillow stuffed with tissue from an envelope.
The monkeys were glued onto a popsicle stick and could be taken in and out as they fell off the bed.
The kids played with them for a long time, matching up the number to where they should be in the bed.
here are the printable monkeys:

Goldilocks and the Three Bears
I took a large envelope, I folded it in half and folded up the bottom to make a pocket to hold the characters.  The kids coloured the pieces, then we glued them into the folder.  We talked about the story and matched the sizes.
here is link:

Three Little Pigs
Simple craft to go with the story.  Fun little finger puppets.

Humpty Dumpty
A simple craft using a tube.

On a side note....the kids were cutting out some money to play store.
I used an envelope to create a purse for them to put their money in.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Happy Valentine's Day

 Welcome

This past week we celebrated Valentine's Day.
What a great reminder to let our friends and family how much they are loved.
My little people are so good at appreciating one another; making and giving cards and little pictures to each other all the time.

So here's what we did last week.

Simple Ladybug
I cut out the shapes and my kiddos glued them together.

Llama
Isn't she the cutest?  I found this idea on Pinterest.
I used a paper plate as the base, cut off the sides to use as the ears.

Heart Tree
These turned out so adorable and fun.
I made a cone shape from construction paper and the kids glued hearts in different colours all over the cone.  When they were dry, I glued a paper tube into the bottom so they would stand up.

Valentine Bear Bag
Here is the bag we made to hold all the Valentines they got from each other...a few goodies too!

Pizza Card
We made a non-traditional but so fun cards for the parents....something a little different.

Sewing Hearts
Here is a fun foam heart we sewed and then decorated with heart stickers.

Valentine's Day Banner
We made a fun banner to hang for V-day.

Our Valentine Snack
We made these cute snacks...yummy.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look!

Penguins and Groundhog Day

 Hello and Welcome

I hope you are all keeping well and safe in these uncertain times.
This past week, we learned all about Penguins.  Kids seem to love this interesting creature.
It was also Groundhog Day for us here.  I think it is a very unusual way to predict the weather but hey, it's lots of fun to watch and see if the groundhog will see his shadow or not.  BTW, he didn't see his shadow and run back into his hole so that means an early Spring!!  We will gladly take that.

So here's what we did last week.

Groundhog
We made these fun groundhog pop ups using a paper bag as the hole in the ground.
I glued the groundhog image onto a craft stick and the kids coloured them.

Here's a video showing the groundhog poking his head out of his hole.

We also made a book showing the groundhog.
This is an old printout that I had so I'm sorry there is no link.

We made lots of shadows while playing outside but glad the Groundhog didn't see his!

Penguin Wreath
A simple wreath using a paper plate as the base.

Penguin Frig Magnet
We made this cute penguin frig magnet using an old CD as the base.

Penguin Puppet
A simple puppet using an envelope.

Penguin Egg Roll
We made these cute little penguins using black paper cups I found at the Dollar Tree.
I cut a hole in the front for the egg.  We learned how the penguins tuck their eggs underneath them to keep them warm.  We used a little styrofoam ball as the egg.
They had a blast trying to roll the little ball into the penguin.

We added this cute join up the dots to our homework books.

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.

Arctic Animals

 Hello and Welcome
This past week, we learned all about Arctic Animals and made some fun crafts.
The kids truly amazed me at all they already knew about the animals we studied.  I'm glad so much of what we are learning is really sinking in, all while we are having fun.

So here's what we did this past week.

Polar Bear
We used 2 paper plates to create our Polar Bear.
I cut one for the body then used the 2nd one for the head, ears and snout.
We added some white tissue paper for the fur.

Polar Bears on the Ice
Here are some more fun little polar bears out on the ice.
You can fine the printable here:

Arctic Owls and Arctic Fox
Here are the cute owl puppets we made using an envelope for the body.
The fox is made by tracing the child's hand and we added a triangle for the head.

Polar Animal Wheel
Here is a Polar Animal wheel we made.  When you turn to the animal, it gives the name below.
I'm sorry that I don't have a printout for this one...I have used it for years and it was in my file.

Ringed Seal
A simple gluing activity using a seal.  Don't you just love the purple eyes lol.

Well that's it for this past week.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
