Down on the Farm

 Welcome

Last week we had fun exploring and creating with our Down on the Farm theme.
Lots of discussions and playtimes around the animals that live on the farm and what they eat.

So here's what we did last week.

Farm Gluing and Colouring
Simple farm scene with animals.

Horses
These were a simple printout, coloured then we added some clothespins for the legs.

Paper Tube Cow
Simple paper tube used to glue on pieces after the kids coloured them.

Rocking Sheep
These rocking sheep were fun to create.  Cut a paper plate from the pattern below and then add the features and the cotton.
PRINTABLE

Pig Hat
I printed out this adorable pig hat and the kids coloured them.  They loved pretending while wearing them.

'T' for Tractor
This was fun to see what the kids would add to our 't' for tractor.

Farm Book
My kiddos love making books so here is one we did about the farm.

Thanks so much for coming by to see what we've been up to.

Birds

Hello
What a wonderful time of year here in Canada as Spring emerges and warmer temperatures prevail.
My little people wanted to learn more about birds and wanted to go bird watching so that's what we did....so much fun and so much learning happened.

So here's what we did this week.

Cardinals Nesting
Simple circle folded and cut to make the wings.
See here for step by step

Owl
We made this cute little owl craft by folding some brown paper to make the trunk of the tree.

Paper Plate Bird
We made these simple paper plate Robins and of course, we had to add a worm to his mouth.

Paper Birds
These are simple printouts that the kids coloured.

BIRD WATCHING DAY

Paper Tube Binoculars

Bird Watching Day was such a wonderful experience.  We took our binoculars and our bird books and headed down to the woods.  We saw or heard the birds in our books.
We heard a few that weren't in our books, so when we got home, I printed a few more off and they coloured them to add to their book.
Amazing how many of the birds they could identify.

We also saw the trilliums (wildflower of Ontario).

This was a piece of bark we found on the ground, so we turned it over.  The woodpecker had pecked holes in it and the bugs had burrowed tunnels into the bark.  So interesting.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Celebrating Mom

 Welcome

What a great week we had creating and celebrating all the Moms.
The excitement was high as the kids made all the goodies to gift to their Moms.

So here's what we did last week.

Flower Baskets
These simple flower baskets were fun to decorate and super easy to make.

Mother's Day Banner
This was a decorative banner made just for Mom.

Flower Frig Magnets
We made these pretty flowers from paper tubes.  I added a big magnet on the back to stick on the frig.

Flower Bouquet
A simple bouquet of tulips and some daffodils.

Mother's Day Card
I printed off the flower, then the kids scrunched up little pieces of tissue paper and glued them over the flower.  It really made for a lovely result.

Tulips
The kids loved colouring the tulips that we made into a card.

Bird Feeders
I glued craft sticks together to create this cute little bird feeder.
The kids colored the sticks and we added some foam flowers for a finishing touch.
They were all so pleased and excited to hang them up at home.

My Mom Rocks!
The kids drew a picture of their Mom and then I asked them the questions about her.
The answers were quite hilarious!!

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
