Welcome Spring

 Good Morning.

Welcome Spring, although we still have snow we are anxious for the nicer weather and know it is just days away!
Last week, we celebrated Spring with some fun crafts.

So, here's what we worked on.

Lamb Puppets
These sweet lamb were created by using a paper plate and added the features.
The cotton added the softness.

Happy Spring Chicken
I cut down a paper plate to create our chicken that could open it's wings.

Sunny Days

Dancing Spring Flowers
The kids coloured these, then we added a string attached to a popsicle stick to hold onto to make our flowers dance.

Quacking Duck
I forgot to take a picture of our duck puppets but we did make a video showing how to make him quack.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Last week we saw lots of GREEN for St. Patrick's Day.
Just fun creating and doing activities as we wait for Spring's arrival.

So, here's what we did last week.

Shamrock Wreaths
We used a paper plate and decorated it for St. Patrick's Day.

Shamrock Wand
I bought the fun foam shamrocks at the Dollar Store and we decorated them with streamers and added a craft stick to hold it.

Suncatchers

Pot of Silver Coins

Leprechaun Puppets
I found this puppet pattern in my stash and we used it to make a paper bag puppet.

Shamrock Decorating

Shamrock Bracelets
I crocheted some little shamrock bracelets for the kids.  Added a pipe cleaner to fasten it to their arm.

Green Pudding
I made some green pudding for snack.
(sadly, it didn't go over well...lol  As the saying goes, we eat with our eyes!)

Musical Instruments

 Welcome
As we are in the last few weeks of winter, I decided to do a unit to learn about some musical instruments.
I think all kids love playing and in our case, lots of singing along.  Lots of fun.

So, here's what we did last week.

Xylophone
I hot glued the base which was 2 rolls and a large popsicle stick together, then the kids coloured the rest of the sticks and we glued them onto the frame.  We used a plastic chop stick to play it.

Banjo
These fun banjos were easy to make using a paper plate and a long tube.
We added some elastic bands for the strings.

Maracas
We used some empty water bottles for the tops and filled them with beads and some pasta.
I glued the handle on and the kids decorated them.

Trumpet
These simple trumpets were made using a tube and a small paper plate.

Piano
I traced the kids hand and cut them out.
We glued them onto our pianos.

Well that's all for now.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Games and Concepts

 Welcome
Another fun and busy week with my littles.
I decided to combine lots of learning with a concepts theme.  It fun learning colours, numbers and shapes while playing a game.

So, here's what we did last week.

Spider Color Match

Split Circle Colour Matching
(for my older children)

Coloured Popsicles
I cut out the popsicle shapes and the kids coloured them.  We glued a piece of coloured paper onto the clothespins and matched them up with the popsicles.
This activity is also great for fine motor development.

Let's Count Game

Fishy Shapes Match Game

Brown Bear What Do You See?
One of our favourite books is Brown Bear so we made a matching game to go with it.

Thanks a lot for coming by to visit.
