Happy St. Patrick's Day

 Welcome

Very busy week with lots of outside time and lots happening inside too!
We celebrated St. Patty's Day with lots of green.

So here's what we did last week.

St. Patrick's Day Wreath
We decorated a paper plate with lots of different sizes of shamrocks.

Shamrock Suncatcher
I cut out a shamrock shape from some black construction paper and added some sticky contact paper to one side of the shamrock.  The kids added shapes etc and then we stuck the other piece of sticky paper over to seal it up.

Pot of Gold
We made this fun pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
We used makeup puffs for the clouds.

+
St. Pat's Day Book filled with lots to colour.

Binoculars
What better way to search for a leprechaun then to make some fun binoculars using paper tubes.
We even saw that the leprechaun turned the water in the toilet GREEN!!

Leprechaun Puppet
This was a printout I've had for years.
We glued it onto a paper lunch bag.

PARTY DAY

We grew a rainbow at the party.
The paper towel is coloured at the ends with Crayola Washable Markers.
After the towel hung in the water for awhile, the colour went all the way to the top and around.
I forgot to take a picture of the end result.

We searched for the silver coins all around the playroom and put them in these little plastic pots I found at the Dollar Tree.
They had such fun!!

OUR PARTY SNACKS
I dipped pretzels in green tinted chocolate and added sprinkles.

I tinted some Frozen Yogurt to make these unicorns.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Goodbye to Winter

 Hello and Welcome

Spring is almost here and we are ready to say goodbye to winter.
We worked on some fun things last week with lots more learning.

So here's what we did.

Melted Snowman
With the sun shining, we watched the snow melt away into puddles.
This was a fun printable we glued onto an old CD.

Match the Snowmen Shapes
Simple printable matched and glued.

Hibernating Bear
We've been hearing all the birds as they come back with warmer temperatures, so we decided to learn about how all the animals are waking up after sleeping all winter.

Time to Wake Up

Goodbye Winter
One last picture as winter comes to an end.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Arctic Animals- Part 2

 Hello and Welcome

As I mentioned last week, our Arctic Animals theme was so popular that I decided to do it for another week.
Besides, we didn't have time to learn about and create all the creatures we wanted to.

So here's what we did last week.

Polar Bears
These cute bears were a printable that we glued onto a piece of cardboard and then decorated.

Footprint Penguins
These cute little guys were done by tracing the child's foot.
After decorating we had a penguin march.

Snowy Owls
We used some paper cups to make our fun snowy owls.
We also watched a video of them flying and searching for their food.

Footprints in the Snow
This was a fun game to make with the kids.

Polar Animals
This printout is a put together one that shows the animal and it's name underneath.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Arctic Animals- Part 1

Hello and Welcome to our little corner of the world.

Last week was a short week for us as we celebrated Family Day on Monday.
So many arctic animals to learn about that it will be 2 weeks long.
A great theme for my kiddos as they are already familiar with some of the animals we learned about.

So here's what we did last week.

Walrus Puppet
We started with a paper bag and added the features to our walrus.
We had a puppet show pretending with them...so fun.

Arctic Fox
This cute little fox was made using paper plates cut in half.  One for the body and the other rolled and stapled together for the head.
We watched a great video about them and how they are camouflaged against the snow.

Arctic Animal Match Game
My kids love making games and this one was fun to do and also helped them better learn about the animals living in the arctic.

Polar Bears
We used some paper plates to make our Polar Bears.

Well that's it for this week.
We will be back next week with more of our Arctic Animal creations.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Happy Valentine/ Friendship Day

 Welcome

Last week we had such wonderful fun creating, sharing and letting our friends and family know how much we care.
My littlest ones learned the shape 'heart' and the colour 'red'.
Lots happening with fun learning too.

So here's what we did last week.

Valentine Cards
We created these cute, fun cards for the Moms and Dads.

Valentine Holder
We needed something to hold all the Valentines we shared with each other so this is what we made.
I folded 2 paper plates and stapled them together, then the kids decorated them.

Valentine Hats
Simple hats made using a paper plate.

Valentine Windsock
Super simple windsock made with red paper and decorated with hearts and streamer.

Hearts and More Hearts

 Welcome

So happy you could pop in to see what we were up to last week.
So fun to watch and see all the kids are learning.
As we prepared for Valentine's Day, great time to learn about hearts.

So here's what we did last week.

Heart Gluing
Since my littlest ones love to glue, I drew a heart and let them pick out hearts to glue onto a larger one.
Great time to learn colours as well.

Suncatchers
They don't look red but the outside edges were red.  I stuck on some contact paper which is sticky, then the kids put hearts onto the sticky part.

Heart Wreath
This was a printable to make this pretty wreath.

Heart Puppies
The kids liked making these cute little puppies using all heart shapes.

Heart Banner
Here is a super simple banner we made.  Just strips of paper, decorated and overlapped together.

Thanks again so much for coming by and taking a look.

Favourite Characters

 Hello.
So glad you could drop in to see what we were up to last week.

Taking a break from our 'winter theme' as the kids wanted to do some crafts showing their favourite characters they love.

So here's what we did last week.

Cookie Monster
I had some black paper plates on hand so I folded it in half and we glued the blue construction paper on the top half.  I covered the tubes with some blue and the kids glued on the eyes.
The cookies were a lesson on learning colours as they glued them all on.

Peppa Pig
The kids love watching this fun little show on TV about Peppa and her brother George.
I printed them out, we decorated them and had a puppet show.

Teletubbies
A new to the kids show they are loving.
We decided to make a simple little match game making learning fun!

Groundhogs
February 2nd was Groundhog Day.
Here were we live, the groundhog predicted an early Spring (fingers crossed although I am skeptical about that prediction lol).
I printed off this cute little guy and after we coloured and decorated him, we glued him to a paper bag we had stuffed with newspaper.  I think the kids had more fun crunching up the newspaper then anything!!  We did a shadow show using them...so fun.

Paw Patrol
One of the most popular kids shows going.
I simply printed off pictures of the characters and we glued them onto a banner.
Great fine motor practice for my littlest ones, picking up the little pieces and gluing them on.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Off to prep for our Valentine creates!

Penguins

 Hello

We are leaning about Penguins this week.
A fun theme as even my smallest little one recognizes them.

So here's what we did last week.

Penguin Hats
This is the simple penguin hat we made.  I think they turned out so cute!

Spoon Penguins
We used some plastic spoons for the penguins body.

Penguin Fridge Magnets
I covered an old CD with black paper and the kids decorated them.
I added a big magnet on the back so they could stick them on their fridge.

Envelope Puppets
One of the easiest ways for little ones to use a puppet is to start with an envelope.
We decorated them and had a puppet show.

Penguin Wreaths
These cute little penguin wreaths started with a black paper plate I got at the Dollar Tree.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
