Frogs

 Hello and Welcome

Another week filled with fun and learning.  Always a good time.

So here's what we did last week.

Fly Catcher Frogs

These were fun to make.  We used a paper tube, coloured it and added the frog details.

It is stapled shut at the bottom and then I added a string with a bottle lid and we glued on a fly.

They tried to get the fly into the frog's mouth.

Paper Tube Frogs

Simple paper tube frogs.

Frog Game

This was a simple game we made.  I cut a circle of paper, the kids coloured it and I glued it into a cone shape.  I cut a small hole in the bottom and hot glued a straw into the hole.  

When they blew on the straw, the Styrofoam ball would rise.

We learned how a frog goes from a tadpole to frog.  So interesting.

Bugs and Butterflies

 

Welcome

We are totally enjoying the beautiful weather we are having here in Ontario and taking lots of opportunities to explore nature.  

My kids wanted to learn more about bugs and butterflies of course, so that's what we did.

Here's what we did last week.

Ladybug

Here is a simple ladybug sitting on a flower.

The flower is a paper plate with cut edges.

Catching Ladybugs

This was a simple gluing activity.  

We counted the spots on the ladybugs and the kids added the legs and antennae.

Ant Puppet

The kids coloured strips of red paper, I rolled them and we glued them onto a stick and added the legs.

Bugs

I printed out the bugs and the kids decorated them.

Bees

Here is the bee puppet and the bee picture we made.  

I giggled to see how the kids personalized the bees in the picture!

Celebrating Fall- Leaves

Welcome Fall.

This was another fun week of creating some Fall crafts.

My little kiddos just love leaves.  Collecting them, crunching in them and treating them like they are wonderful found treasures.

Here is what we did this week.

This was such a great, fun craft to make that I found on Pinterest.

Using 2 paper plates, we glued on some fall coloured papers.

The top plate has a leaf cut out of it.

The kids decorated and coloured the plates, then we put the cut out one on top and fastened it with a brad.  They could turn the top plate and see the leaf change colour.

Simple Fall leaves mobile.  

I cut out leaf shapes, the kids decorated them and we made them into a mobile.

We did some dot glueing....great fine motor activity.

Fall Banner to decorate their houses.

I cut the banners and the kids glued on the letters and the leaves.

Leaf Matching Game.

My kiddos love puzzles, so this was perfect for them.
