Bugs and Butterflies

We are totally enjoying the beautiful weather we are having here in Ontario and taking lots of opportunities to explore nature.
My kids wanted to learn more about bugs and butterflies of course, so that's what we did.

Here's what we did last week.

Here is a simple ladybug sitting on a flower.
The flower is a paper plate with cut edges.

Catching Ladybugs
This was a simple gluing activity.
We counted the spots on the ladybugs and the kids added the legs and antennae.

Ant Puppet
The kids coloured strips of red paper, I rolled them and we glued them onto a stick and added the legs.

I printed out the bugs and the kids decorated them.

Here is the bee puppet and the bee picture we made.
I giggled to see how the kids personalized the bees in the picture!

Here are the cute butterflies we made using a spoon for the body.

Butterfly Mask

Butterfly Life Cycle

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
I'm off to prep for all the Father's Day crafts we have coming up this week.

  1. I had a little giggle at the faces on the bees too Karen x. Loved how you and the kiddos 'counted' the spots on the lady birds in the jar ...fun and educational x. Fabulous butterfly masks and extra loved the life cycle of the butterfly too. Another fun week my friend x.

  2. What wonderful projects Karen, your little ones would have had fun making them, loving the little bees and the mask is brilliant, Kate x
