Let's Go to Space

 Welcome

Last week we had fun exploring SPACE.  Lots of talking about what it would be like to go there...what happens with no gravity....how would you eat....sleep?  They loved pretending about floating in space.
Some of the kids already knew the names of some of the planets and they learned about a few more.

So here's what we did to go into space.

Space Shuttles
I cut out the bottom shape of the shuttle and the kids decorated with stars and colouring.
We glued on a paper tube with a hole cut in the top so we could add some little toy people in the shuttle.

Blasting Off Rocket
Here is a simple cup rocket we made using cups from the Dollar Store.  I attached an elastic to the bottom to make it spring up.  You place the decorated rocket over the black cup and just push down to blast off.  They had a 'blast' playing with them too!

Astronaut
Here is a cute little astronaut we made using a CD as the base and added paper details.
When you shake him, his legs and arms wiggle.

Solar System and the Planets
A simple printout to colour and decorate.

Space Helmet Mask
Simple face mask to go to space.

We made some Moon Rocks to find on the moon.

Rocket Snack
This simple snack was so fun to make.  Cheese on the bottom, strawberries and bananas.
They blasted off right into our mouths!

Alien
Simple printout alien

Well as you can see, it was a fun filled week.
Thanks so much for coming by and visiting.
