Celebrating Earth Day all Week!

Welcome
Another great week with lots of fun creating.
Our theme, Earth Day, had a lot of learning that came with it too.  We often recycle things and use them for our crafting.  They love making with something that would otherwise have gone into recycle.

So here's what we did this past week.

Working Together
Here is a cute printout I used to show the kids that if we all work together, we can make a difference.
here is the printout:

Earth Day Puppet
Good way to recycle a paper bag.
here is the printout:

Earth Day Flowers
We used some cupcake liners to make our Earth Day flowers.  We glued a picture of the earth
into the center of the flowers.

Hug the Earth
A simple printout that was coloured and added the moveable arms.
here is the printout:

Earth Day Banner
Just a fun banner made using some recycled paper.
Printable here:

Greenhouse
After talking about what plants need to grow and how they are started, we made this cute little
greenhouse.  We decorated it and then placed some beans into a ziplock bag with a wet paper towel.
The beans will sprout in about 12 days.

Here is a printout to go with that:

Cherry Blossoms
Just a fun little craft using crumpled tissue paper.

Experiment
We also did a little experiment to learn how plant drink.
We placed some celery into water that had some red and blue food colouring added to it.
In one day, we could see how the celery drank up the water and the leaves changed colour.
The kids were very excited to see that!!

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week!!
