Apples

 Welcome
Fall is such a great time to go apple picking for many.
I thought we would do a fun theme of apples, some simple crafts easy for little hands.
We even found the 'star' in the middle of the apple!

So, here's what we did last week.

Apple Tree
We did some fine motor with picking up the circles and gluing them onto the tree.

Apple Puppet
Simple puppet cut and glue activity.

Apple Counting
I cut the apples out and the kids glued the seeds on.  Great counting activity and number recognition.

Yummy Apples

 Hello and Welcome

We had a fun week exploring apples.
My new kiddos are very young, so we just worked on the different colours of apples.

So here's what we did last week.

Worm in the Apple
I cut out an apple shape, glued it onto a piece of cardboard for stability and then the kids added lots of apple seeds.
When we were finished gluing, I drew a face on one of their fingers and then we pretended that the worm was coming out of the apple.  So fun.

Way up High in the Apple Tree
I traced the kid's arms to create the tree trunk.  They glued little apples onto the tree and we learned the song.
Way up high in the apple tree,
2 little apples, looked at me.
I shook the tree as hard as I could,
Down fell the apples...mmmm they tasted good.

Apple Pie, Yes Please
We used some brown paper squares for the crust of our pie, then added red apples to the center.
After that we added paper strips for the top crust and a white pom pom for the whipped cream.
Now I'm craving apple pie...my favourite!

Apple Picking Basket
Here is a basket we coloured and then added different coloured apples.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

April Showers and More

Hello and Welcome

It's so exciting to see nature emerging.  We love our walks around the neighbourhood looking for the signs.  It is such a great time to see all the flowers popping up and a great way to reinforce learning our colours.  My kids have also learned the names of so many flowers which is great.

So here's what we did last week.

Umbrella
Here is a fun umbrella we made by folding different coloured circles into quarters and then glued
them together.

Umbrella Puppets
We made these cute umbrella puppets using this printout:

'W' Worm
With all the rain we've been having came the worms so I decided to embrace that for our craft.

Watering Can
Here is a watering can we made using a paper cup.  Lots of imaginative play came with this one.

Bunny Puppet
The bunnies are starting to reappear in our neighbourhood so the kids wanted to make a bunny.
This is a simple folded one.

Thanks so very much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.
