Let's Go Camping

 Hello

Is it just me or did summer fly by??
We've spent many fun summer days enjoying the weather and creating when it's too hot to be outside.

So, here's what we did the past few weeks.

Campfire and Roasting Marshmallows
We decorated paper tubes that I covered with brown paper and then added the flame and the stick with the cotton ball on the end.
We sat around the fires telling stories...so fun!

Camping Tents

Sleeping Bag

Camping Lantern
I made these by cutting off the top part of a water bottle and then attaching a plastic cup over it using a pipe cleaner.  The kids decorated them with coloured tapes and then we added a little battery light.

Paper Smores

Real Smores
We made these for our snack.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Let's Go Camping

 Hello and Welcome
Boy, did we ever have a fun week with our Camping theme...so fun.

So here's what we did last week.

Camping Lanterns
We made these adorable camping lanterns.  So fun and yet so easy to make!!
I love how they turned out.
I got the kids to glue squares of tissue paper onto a piece of clear cellophane I got at the Dollar Store.
I used a container with a screw on lid as the base and hot glued a plastic plate to the bottom of the container with a pipe cleaner handle so it could be unscrewed as we added a battery light inside.

The kids loved going into the pretend tent I set up with their lanterns shining.

Going Camping
We made this cute and fun to play with camping scene.
Above, you will see our camp fire we made the same as our lanterns but this time, we used a clear plastic cup and set it onto an old CD covered with strips of brown paper for the base.
The tent is just a piece of folded paper with some sticks glued onto the front and back.  We even made a stick for roasting marshmallows.

Camper Trailer
We made these cute little camper trailers using a half of a paper plate.

Rain Sticks
These sticks are simple to make.

Teddy Bear's Picnic
On Friday we celebrated a birthday with a Teddy Bear's Picnic.
The kids all brought a favourite bear, we made these cute banners, then packed up a picnic lunch and headed up to the park for lunch.
Our bears were friendly because you don't ever want to meet an unfriendly bear when you are camping!!
