Our Feathered Friends

Hello and Welcome

The first week of Spring has arrived although it still feels like Winter where I live.
During our outdoor times, the kids have noticed all the birds and we can hear all kinds of chirping.
It is so fun to try and spot the bird and then to identify it.  Good theme that the kids can relate to.

So here's what we did last week.

Birdhouses
We made these sweet birdhouse by gluing together some craft sticks, added a backing and then the bird.

Blue Jay Puppet
We have so many of these around.

Rockin' Robin
We used a paper plate to create out rocking robin.

Baby Robin
We made our robins by gluing paper strips onto an old CD.

Well that's it...short week as I was off on Monday.
Have a great week and thanks so much for coming by to visit.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

 Welcome

Very busy week with lots of outside time and lots happening inside too!
We celebrated St. Patty's Day with lots of green.

So here's what we did last week.

St. Patrick's Day Wreath
We decorated a paper plate with lots of different sizes of shamrocks.

Shamrock Suncatcher
I cut out a shamrock shape from some black construction paper and added some sticky contact paper to one side of the shamrock.  The kids added shapes etc and then we stuck the other piece of sticky paper over to seal it up.

Pot of Gold
We made this fun pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.
We used makeup puffs for the clouds.

+
St. Pat's Day Book filled with lots to colour.

Binoculars
What better way to search for a leprechaun then to make some fun binoculars using paper tubes.
We even saw that the leprechaun turned the water in the toilet GREEN!!

Leprechaun Puppet
This was a printout I've had for years.
We glued it onto a paper lunch bag.

PARTY DAY

We grew a rainbow at the party.
The paper towel is coloured at the ends with Crayola Washable Markers.
After the towel hung in the water for awhile, the colour went all the way to the top and around.
I forgot to take a picture of the end result.

We searched for the silver coins all around the playroom and put them in these little plastic pots I found at the Dollar Tree.
They had such fun!!

OUR PARTY SNACKS
I dipped pretzels in green tinted chocolate and added sprinkles.

I tinted some Frozen Yogurt to make these unicorns.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Goodbye to Winter

 Hello and Welcome

Spring is almost here and we are ready to say goodbye to winter.
We worked on some fun things last week with lots more learning.

So here's what we did.

Melted Snowman
With the sun shining, we watched the snow melt away into puddles.
This was a fun printable we glued onto an old CD.

Match the Snowmen Shapes
Simple printable matched and glued.

Hibernating Bear
We've been hearing all the birds as they come back with warmer temperatures, so we decided to learn about how all the animals are waking up after sleeping all winter.

Time to Wake Up

Goodbye Winter
One last picture as winter comes to an end.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
Have a great week.

Arctic Animals- Part 2

 Hello and Welcome

As I mentioned last week, our Arctic Animals theme was so popular that I decided to do it for another week.
Besides, we didn't have time to learn about and create all the creatures we wanted to.

So here's what we did last week.

Polar Bears
These cute bears were a printable that we glued onto a piece of cardboard and then decorated.

Footprint Penguins
These cute little guys were done by tracing the child's foot.
After decorating we had a penguin march.

Snowy Owls
We used some paper cups to make our fun snowy owls.
We also watched a video of them flying and searching for their food.

Footprints in the Snow
This was a fun game to make with the kids.

Polar Animals
This printout is a put together one that shows the animal and it's name underneath.

Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.

Arctic Animals- Part 1

Hello and Welcome to our little corner of the world.

Last week was a short week for us as we celebrated Family Day on Monday.
So many arctic animals to learn about that it will be 2 weeks long.
A great theme for my kiddos as they are already familiar with some of the animals we learned about.

So here's what we did last week.

Walrus Puppet
We started with a paper bag and added the features to our walrus.
We had a puppet show pretending with them...so fun.

Arctic Fox
This cute little fox was made using paper plates cut in half.  One for the body and the other rolled and stapled together for the head.
We watched a great video about them and how they are camouflaged against the snow.

Arctic Animal Match Game
My kids love making games and this one was fun to do and also helped them better learn about the animals living in the arctic.

Polar Bears
We used some paper plates to make our Polar Bears.

Well that's it for this week.
We will be back next week with more of our Arctic Animal creations.
Thanks so much for coming by and taking a look.
